I hear talk about our ‘top’players a lot in this promo, see only irish national players on the video. Where are the U8’s on Sunday with their big smiles? Where are the volunteers developing our game? In most countries the organisation is looking after ALL players and that aspect of the game is first established and therefore obviously their priority, it seems to me that here we focus very much on our top, on winning. And if need be, we will look down at the ‘rest’ of the people. Good to see Trevor out there making contact with the ‘rest of us’, will it make a difference? Its a start, but time will tell.

Seems to be a very modern and professional approach to management and promotion of Hockey in Ireland.

The new initiatives sound positive - but do you have examples of what HI staff and structures will do for people who are not involved at elite level, JAG set up etc? So - the average player or coach etc? Aside from an insurance policy and some retail discounts in exchange for personal data - is there anything else?
